An effective plan should follow the SMART method: Specific, Measurable, Achievable/Action-Oriented, Relevant and Timely.

Consider the following:- Well defined goals- Specific steps, prioritized tasks and assigned responsibilities to create structure- Realistic deadlines or milestones to work towards- Adequate resources including people, tools and budget- Clear and open communication to create and maintain alignment- Flexibility to pivot when necessary
